If these shoes appear to be a little tacky to the touch, it's because they have had a recent mink oil treatment.  This treatment will be absorbed naturally, but can be helped along by continuing to brush the shoes.  Recommend continued treatments with either mink oil or neats foot oil.  Either treatment will keep the leather soft and pliable, but the mink oil will make the shoes somewhat water resistant (NOT waterproof).
